coaching philosophy

Ellen is aware that she has an important role as a female coach and role model, and strives to build upon this with new, progressive training and coaching opportunities and collaborations through ACTIV8TE for all our youth, the community and particularly female athletes.

Training sessions with Coach EL build from a foundation of initial functional movement review, education and adjustment. Teaching Movement Preparation skills and focusing on improved movement function and form for optimum speed agility and quickness.

Ellen is aware that many athletes are unknowingly training and compensating for movement disfunction, that can and will result in injury. While training with Coach EL, athletes learn how to train for their body, learn to understand and apply learning methods that support athletic competence and build self confidence. Building training methodologies for each individual providing them with a platform for individual success.

Building Confidence and Competence as key components of their training your athlete will learn how to slow down, break down, and then rebuild movement patterns successfully, identify and correct bad habits, so that the athlete understands the How, What, When, Where and Why of each aspect of their specific training plan and sport, and develop a healthier more holistic relationship to their body as it relates to sports activity.

Ellen believes athletes at all levels should be Body Mechanics, with a tool kit of skills, giving them the knowledge and tools to sustain healthy and long term athletic involvement.
